Lietner

Terms

Last updated 10 October 2026

1. These terms

Lietner (https://lietner.app) is run by Ahmed Eltigani, Wyoming, United States ("we"). By using Lietner you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

2. Who can use Lietner

Anyone can use Lietner without an account. To create an account you must be at least 13, or the minimum age for consenting to online services in your country if that is higher (up to 16 in parts of the EU). One account per person.

3. The service

Lietner is a free flashcard app that runs in your browser. An optional account syncs your decks and progress between your devices. We may change, pause or stop the service or any feature, including sync. If sign-ups or sync are paused, the app keeps working on your device and your data there stays yours.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the decks and cards you create. You give us permission to store, copy and transmit them only as needed to run the service for you, for example to sync them to your other devices. You are responsible for what you put on your cards and must have the right to use it.

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

6. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings; this deletes its data from our servers. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, after telling you where reasonable. Your data on your own devices is not affected by a suspension.

7. No warranty

Lietner is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that data can never be lost. Export a backup (Settings → Export JSON) regularly; while we're on the free database plan there are no server backups.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Lietner. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Open source

Lietner's source code is available under the MIT License at github.com/ELTIGA/lietner. That license covers the code; these terms cover your use of the hosted service at lietner.app.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. We change the date at the top, and announce significant changes in the app before they apply. If you keep using Lietner after that, the new terms apply.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
